We all remember our dark quarantine days, don't we? Hence, this project was to keep me busy.
This is a visual journal translating my home quarantine experience. Staying at home for nearly seven months without stepping out loaded me with a mix of emotions. This video is a deep dive into my headspace from the day I flew back from New York on March 18th until the day I finally stepped out, October 12th.
This project conceptually captures my emotions of frustration, anger, anxiety, and restlessness, mixed with mental breakdowns and a sense of being hypnotized. I used the montage technique to abstractly depict these intangible feelings through found footage and audio. The video employs layering, superimposing, and juxtaposing footage to create a sense of chaos and illusion.
I have condensed seven months into a four-minute video by manipulating the speed, arrangement, repetition, and reversing of footage to create an almost time-lapse effect.
